Stripe Projects & Kernel: Browser Infrastructure for Developers and Agents, Straight from the CLI
Kernel is a launch partner in the Stripe Projects developer preview so that agents (and their humans) can provision browser infrastructure direct from the command line.
Kernel builds open source, crazy fast browser infrastructure that lets AI agents use the web the same way humans do. That's why we co-designed the Agentic Provisioning Protocol with Stripe and joined the Stripe Projects Developer Preview as a launch partner.
Stripe Projects is a new workflow in the CLI that lets developers and their agents provision services and get credentials — without ever leaving the terminal.
Seamless provisioning built for developers and agents
With the Kernel x Stripe Projects integration, you can spin up Kernel's browser infra straight from the terminal. Install the Stripe CLI, then run:
Stripe Projects provisions a Kernel project and API key in your Kernel account, creating one if you don't have it yet. It returns the credentials — your KERNEL_API_KEY and project details — straight to your environment or secret store, agent-readable and ready for your code and your agents to use.
From there, you can launch a browser with a single kernel.browsers.create() call and automate anything on the Internet.
3,000+ teams use Kernel today to navigate dashboards, gather pricing data across sites, and capture receipts and invoices for back-office workflows. Kernel works out-of-the-box with every major CUA model, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Yutori, and Gemini.
Why this matters
Getting from local code to scaling environments in production is still one of the most tedious parts of building software. But with modern AI workflows, an agent that can write code should be able to stand up the services that code depends on.
Stripe Projects and Kernel handle both ends of that by ensuring credentials are shared reliably and securely, without a developer babysitting the process.
Kernel's browsers spin up in milliseconds, persist state across workflows, and support human-in-the-loop interactions through Live View and Replays. Provisioning Kernel through Stripe Projects means credentials arrive ready to be used, resources live in your own Kernel account with the access and controls you'd expect, and your agent is ready to start working.
Together, Kernel and Stripe Projects move us closer to a world where the full stack an agent needs is simply invokable, composable code.
Get started
Kernel is available in the Stripe Projects developer preview. Install the Stripe CLI, then run stripe projects init my-app followed by stripe projects add kernel/project to provision your first project and API key. This is a preview, and we'd love your feedback, especially if you're building agent-assisted workflows.
